Going Deeper

In this New Year, can you see the early signs of His purposes and plans bursting forth?!

When bringing in a new year, we often think of what we can accomplish or do better than the year before. We set goals, make resolutions, start going back to the gym…But what about growing deeper? Deeper relationships, deeper faith, deeper trust, and deeper knowledge of God...What if we didn't settle for head knowledge? What if we were determined to pursue more with the LORD? What if we hungered for His presence? What if we wanted our faith to be marked by depth rather than width? What would that produce?

It’s so easy to just settle for a little—a little of the Word, a little of God’s presence, a little short of the fullness that comes with going deeper. The truth is, we could never get “enough” of God. The more we lean in, the more of Heaven we see.

This new year, as I was writing down all the things I wanted to do and accomplish, I heard the Spirit say, ‘Just focus on me. Let me be the goal, and you will see what I am doing."

"Can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you?
The early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth.
The budding vines of new life are now blooming everywhere.
The fragrance of their flowers whispers,
“There is change in the air.”
Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place.
For now is the time to arise and come away with me.”
— Song of Songs 2:13-15

Jesus is asking us if we can see, if we can discern, what He IS DOING.

To experience the new day that He has for you and me, we need to be awake and attentive to the change—the early signs of shifting, the things that the Spirit is revealing so that we can join God’s mission and be a part of the work He is doing. When we ask for God to reveal to us what He is doing around us, He responds to our request with this invitation:

“Arise, my love, my beautiful companion, and run with me to the higher place. For now is the time to arise and come away with me.”

In this new year, there is new life! There are new areas to speak faith into. He is inviting us to come closer. To experience His view. To see the perspective that He sees. The truth, the higher way is the deeper way. It is time to grow deep. Take hold of His vision and run!
